International cooperation in action: Hadžići – Madrid – Durrës

The Blended Mobility activity was implemented within the framework of the DC VET WB project, an initiative aimed at strengthening vocational education and training in the Western Balkans through international cooperation, innovative learning approaches, and mobility opportunities.

IUS LIFE, one of the partners of DC VET WB project, identified Srednjoškolski
centar Hadžići as the perfect match for the renewable energy-focused activity, based on the school’s profile, student motivation, and strong interest in sustainability-related topics.

As part of this experience, we also gathered a testimonial from Ms. Nejra Neradin, an English teacher who worked closely with the students throughout the Blended Mobility activity and accompanied them during the physical mobility in Albania.

“This year, I had the privilege of working with an incredible group of students from
Srednjoškolski Centar Hadžići on a Blended Mobility project focused on renewable energy sources, in partnership with Pedro de Tolosa High School from Madrid.
Working on this project with our students was an extremely valuable experience.

From the beginning, they showed strong motivation and curiosity during online collaboration with peers from Spain, where they exchanged ideas on renewable energy and explored solutions used in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spain. Practical activities, such as building a bike generator and analyzing the possibility of installing solar panels on school buildings, helped students clearly connect theory with real-life application.

Despite language and technical challenges, students demonstrated excellent teamwork, growing confidence in using English, and a strong sense of responsibility. Accompanying them during the physical mobility in Durrës, Albania (16–18 September 2025) was particularly rewarding.

Meeting partners in person, working on a sustainable energy business plan, visiting Europe House, and exploring Tirana contributed greatly to their personal and professional development.

This project provided students with new knowledge, skills, friendships, and lasting memories, while highlighting the true value of international cooperation for a greener and more sustainable future.”
