One month, one city, one life-changing mobility
A group of students from Consorcio Costa Brava lived a one-month learning mobility experience in Coimbra, hosted by Mondego. One of them told us how it went!

The experience of Unax Garcia
Over the past few months, I’ve had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I’m currently studying the Outdoor Activities and Leisure Guide vocational course, and thanks to the Erasmus+ program, I had the chance to do my internship abroad. I went to Coimbra, Portugal, and worked at a paddle surf and water activities company.
At first, I was really nervous and unsure. It was my first time living away from home and in a different country. I didn’t know how I would adapt, but I took the leap—and now I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience.

From day one, I was welcomed warmly. I got to take part in paddle surf activities, help with groups, prepare equipment, and learn how everything is organized behind the scenes. Professionally, I learned a lot and felt like a valuable part of the team.
But the biggest impact was on a personal level. This experience helped me become more independent, appreciate the little things, and gain more self-confidence. At first, I found it hard to do things on my own, but little by little I grew more confident and learned how to manage by myself.

I also met some amazing people, practiced Portuguese, discovered a new culture, and enjoyed the natural beauty around Coimbra. Living outside of my comfort zone made me grow in ways I never expected.
Without a doubt, this experience has had a huge impact on me, and I’d recommend it to anyone. I’m going back home with great memories, valuable lessons, and a real sense of pride for having taken this step.
